The Swede Hill Public House is located in Touchmark in the West Hills, in Portland, Oregon. The pub wanted to create a space that paid tribute to it’s namesake, and the families that shared the land for generations. The design required a historically accurate map of the area that called out both major historical landmarks and points in history.
The two images shown above were taken by Steve Wanke and used courtesy of Touchmark.
In addition to the large map and timeline installation, I also recreated a pennant (with the help of Oxford Pennant) from a photograph of the Swedeville school that existed from 1888 - 1926. The photo shown below, is from 1914 or 1915.
